Yesterday I spent time with my godchild, and we read Jaxon Meets the Speech Therapist after grabbing a smoothie. The moment I pulled the book out, her face lit up with excitement and she instantly connected with the characters.

As I read, the joy on her face said everything. She wasn’t just listening, she was seeing herself in the story.

This book is powerful. Representation matters, and this is exactly what our children need.

My daughter loves this book! As soon as she saw the cover, she got so excited. It really means a lot to see a book with Black kids in it. I’m telling everybody to go get a copy, and I can’t wait to grab the coloring and activity book too!

I gifted this book to a 4-year-old, and he really loved it! It was amazing to see him connect with the story and get genuinely excited about it. Seeing a young Black boy as the main character, along with a Black male speech-language pathologist, really hit different for him. This is definitely a book every parent should have at home. It’s so relatable, and honestly, I loved the story as an adult too.

  4. Asia Grant

I love the book! It’s thoughtful, intentional, and you can tell a lot of care went into every part of it. It feels like one of those books that will stick with kids and shape how they see themselves and their voice.

  5. Trevor Queen

This book just gets it. It takes something that can feel confusing or intimidating for kids and makes it feel normal, approachable, and even exciting. The flow of the story keeps you engaged, and it’s one of those books kids will want to come back to on their own.

It also feels like a great conversation starter, not just for kids, but for families and educators too. If you’re looking for a children’s book that supports communication, builds confidence, and fits right into real-life moments, this one is it.
